In
the early 1990's, Randy
Anderson observed an industry-wide need for practical, high-quality
training related to the operation and maintenance of reciprocating
engines and compressors in the natural gas transmission industry.
In 1996, after 25 years with Panhandle Eastern, Randy left his position
as Sr. Engineer for Plant Operations and Maintenance and started
Anderson
Consulting, Training & Testing (ACTT).
Over
the next three years, Randy quickly built his customer
base and earned a reputation as the premier technical trainer
for engine and compressor operations in the natural gas industry.
In
August 1999, Compressor Engineering
Corporation (CECO) purchased ACTT. With CECO's strong reputation
and financial strength, ACTT was poised for growth. As the first
order of business, ACTT hired Charles Ely
to manage the business and add technical expertise in the areas
of clean air technologies, engine controls, and practical engine
solutions.
In
2001, ACTT added two experienced consultants to its staff,
Chris Scheve and
Traci Brentano. With the
addition of these key people and their backgrounds, ACTT was able
to broaden its scope of expertise and available services to include
equipment and personnel audits, computerized maintenance management,
turbocharger performance and operation, gas turbine operation, DOT
operator qualification and other related subjects.
In 2003, Chris Scheve became Vice President of CECO Pipeline Services.
Today,
ACTT continues to build its reputation as the preferred provider
of consulting, testing,
and training services
for owners and operators of reciprocating engines and compressors.
In fact, since its inception, ACTT has trained over 1200 employees
and provided thousands of hours of consulting, testing, and troubleshooting
to more than 30 companies. Even more classes are on the way, such as Turbine training and Electric Motor Driven hands-on training.
As
ACTT's reputation and service line continues to grow, the future
looks bright for this innovative new company.
