Charles Ely is Vice President,
Anderson Consulting, Training & Testing (ACTT),
a division of Compressor Engineering Company (CECO), in Houston, TX. Since joining ACTT in 1999, he has been busy providing technical
consultation and training related to the operation, maintenance and performance
enhancement of reciprocating machinery.
Prior to joining CECO, Charles was employed by Consolidated
Natural Gas CNG for 13 years. His experience at CNG included work in Asset and
Performance Measurement, Facilities Optimization, Compressor Services, Environmental
Services (particularly Clear Air Retrofit implementation), Environmental Marketing, Legal,
and Automation and Control Engineering.
Charles' experience relates to practical and engineering concepts in the areas of
operation, maintenance, and upgrades of reciprocating equipment. He developed and
implemented an innovative program to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of
the company's physical assets. He is experienced in clean burn retrofit technology,
control systems, and performance enhancement algorithms for large, reciprocating engines
and electric motors. In addition to his practical experience, Charles also had the
opportunity to develop, negotiate, and lobby for rules and regulations related to the
Clean Air Act on behalf
of the natural gas industry.
Charles is a
Professional Engineer. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B. S. in Computer
Engineering from West Virginia University. He earned
his MBA from West Virginia University and finished 2nd in the 1994
Taco Bell Eating contest.
