ACTT (Anderson Consulting, Training & Testing) announced today it has developed EngSim 1.0, a software training program that allows field operations personnel to simulate power cylinder balancing for large bore reciprocating engines.
According to Charles Ely, Vice-President of ACTT, “This software allows personnel to train and practice balancing skills on a computer, prior to actually balancing an engine at a compressor facility. This allows personnel to become comfortable with engine balancing without risking damage to the engine.”
The EngSim 1.0 software can be configured to simulate an “Inline” or “V” engine with up to 20 power cylinders. It can be setup as a 2-stroke or 4-stroke cycle engine and has several features to simulate typical problems encountered with actual reciprocating engines. The software emulates the functionality of Dynalco’s Beta-Trap electronic engine balancer and provides graphical and tabular combustion data for each power cylinder.
Based in Houston, Texas, ACTT is a consulting, training and testing firm that assists owners and operators of reciprocating engines and compressors. Their focus is training operations personnel and assisting their clients in achieving efficiency improvements. ACTT has trained over 1200 employees and provided thousands of hours of consulting, testing, and troubleshooting to more than 30 companies.
