Fundamentals of Electric Motors and Gas Compressors
Course 1270 of our Basic Track Training

This course teaches the fundamentals of electric motors with reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors. Upon completion of this course, each student will understand operating parameters of electric motors as well as reciprocating and centrifugal compressors. Essential components, preventive maintenance items, troubleshooting skills, and performance indicators for electric motors and gas compressors will be reviewed.

  • Component failure modes
  • Monitoring of performance
  • Preventive maintenance items
  • Identify problems using:
      • Vibration analysis
      • Alignment analysis
      • Pressures and temperatures

This course is intended for personnel who operate, repair, and monitor electric motors and gas compressors. There are no pre-requisites required to attend this class. Class size is 12-15 students. This class is taught at the customer's location. (36 training hours)
