Engine Performance Evaluation
Emission and Performance Optimization
Optimized performance can enhance engine efficiency, reliability, and emission compliance. When integrated with diagnostic alarms, troubleshooting guides, and good preventive maintenance, optimum engine performance can be achieved.
Program Description Emission and Performance Optimization is a comprehensive testing, analysis, and maintenance program to enhance and maintain optimal engine performance. Program features include:
Onsite testing (engine analysis, engine performance mapping, and equipment repair and upgrade recommendations)
Optimized operating curves for efficient, reliable, and emission compliant operation
Control system logic and ISO diagrams detailing the proper application and installation of the optimized operating curves
Self-diagnostic performance and maintenance alarm
Detailed diagnostic and troubleshooting guide for operations and repair personnel
Scheduled maintenance guidelines The program typically includes 7-10 days of onsite testing in two separate visits and 3-4 weeks to complete the control curves, operator guidelines and maintenance plans.

Testing Is Applicable
to all (new, existing, and retrofit) reciprocating gas engines (2- and 4-stroke). It is particularly beneficial for engines that:

  • Run poorly (frequent misfires, detonation, etc.),
  • Experience frequent equipment failures, or
  • Require low exhaust emission levels

Startup and Commissioning Services

Benefits / Advantages
The proper startup and warming of an engine prior to going online is essential to equipment reliability and availability. Service Description Development of startup and warm-up procedures and control logic for new, retrofit, or upgraded engine installations. Program features include:

  • Onsite testing (engine analysis, startup and warm-up procedure development, and equipment repair and upgrade recommendations)
  • Optimized startup and warm-up procedures
  • Control system logic and ISO diagrams detailing proper application of the optimized procedures Scheduling typically includes 2-3 days onsite testing and 1-2 weeks to document and prepare optimized procedures and controls.

Where Testing Is Applicable
To new or retrofit engines.
Note: This service is only sold in conjunction with the Emission and Performance Optimization.
